Jesse Phillips, the Secretary of the Seminole County Republican Executive Committee, has announced that he is running to be the Republican State Committeeman from Seminole County.

“This is an important time for our party and country. Like you, I am concerned about where we are headed, and committed to work for a Republican party that is equal to task of answering the challenges of our generation,” Phillips said in an announcement on his website.

“The best hope we have to advance our values is to develop an effective state party that can demonstrate the benefits of limited government and individual liberty by working to elect state and national leadership to carry these forward.”

Along with the announcement, the campaign website also announced two key endorsements. State Representative Bob Cortes (HD-30) and State Representative Scott Plakon (HD-29) have endorsed Jesse Phillips for Republican State Committeeman.

Prior to being elected as the Seminole GOP Secretary, Jesse managed the Bob Cortes campaign, in which Seminole County voters elected the first Hispanic member of the State House of Representatives in the history of the county. Jesse also led Restore Justice, a statewide conservative grassroots initiative to educate voters on the records of several Justices on the state’s high court. The two year effort to unite Republican Executive Committees throughout the state led to the RPOF recommending voters not retain the Justices, the only time any major party has made such a recommendation in Florida state history.
